Morena Baccarin Looks like a Sleestak in “V”

I caught about 30 minutes of the new ABC Sci-Fi remake of “V”.
The Good: Somehow ABC managed to put Tom Baldwin from The 4400, Wash from Firefly and Inara from Firefly into one show. (Joel Gretsch, Alan Tudyk and Morena Baccarin for you sticklers for “real life” facts).
The Not So Good: Everything is so damn bright and clean. I realize its not fair to judge after only a half hour of watching, but this is Shiny Sci-Fi. The kind where everyone is good looking and everything is shiny and clean and its safe to watch with your kids. At least, that’s my 30 minute impression. I’ll finish this one and then give it a few more episodes before I see if it hooks me or not.
As much as the third and fourth seasons of Battlestar Galactica made me want to bite Ron Moore in the face, for a while it was the best thing on television and it set the standard (for me at least) as to what “grown up” sci-fi could be.
The Truly Awful: Morena Baccarin’s hair. Witness the horror:

I know, I know. She’s Inara from Firefly and like a good Joss Whedon fanboy, I’m supposed to shutup and not say anything bad about actors and actresses from the “Whedonverse”.
But seriously, look:

Can’t tell them apart, can you? That haircut makes her look like a friggin’ Sleestak, right? I don’t know if they are going for this look because she’s an alien or what but something is just not right there. Why did they not go with the long haired Morena?

I’ll give V a chance but this is a pretty big strike against the show if you ask me.
Sleestaks are so 1970′s.

Heh, I agree, they should have left her hair long. But I’ll still watch. I thought it was pretty good sci-fi fare, actually. They plotted it quick so they set up the major conflict in 1 ep – which I don’t mind. I think the good looking people is the point – they’re all v’s and designed to be good looking. I think most of the humans are not shiny good looking folk. I mean, they tend in general to be good looking because it’s tv and all, but most of them are rough around the edges.
Very keen observation Mike. As usual. I had to pass on V after what BSG did to the hope that I could ever get into Sci Fi again. I am afraid that I am really going to like it and they’ll go and frak it up in season 3.
