Middleman Cancellation Official
I guess its time to put The Middleman on the same shelf as Firefly. You know the one: the one that’s labeled Brilliant Shows That Have Tons of Fans but Somehow Still Got Canceled After The First Season.
Over at Slice of Sci-Fi, they are quoting a NY Post piece that says ABC Family has officially canceled the show. I went to the Middleblog to see if it was true, and lo and behold there is an entry there which tries to brush it off as the show being on hiatus, but it smells like cancellation to me.
Of course there is a DVD set coming this summer, and a “finale” to be put into comic form, the media from which the show was originally adapted.
I guess we can hold out hope that if the DVD sales do well, some other, smarter network will pick MM up and give us more. Let’s face it the show was smart, funny and full of geeky pop culture references. Most importantly it never took itself seriously while trying to make you laugh.
If not, we can always grab Sensei Ping, hunt down the suits and give them the Wu-Han Thumb of Death.
